I’ve narrowed down my list to 5 reasons to have a girls ‘getaway to Mauritius but really, I could go on forever!

In 2015, I jetted off with my girls for a week-long adventure of sun, beach and cocktails to celebrate my 30^th birthday on the sandy shores of this gorgeous island and here’s why:

It’s totally accessible:

A mere four hour trip from Johannesburg via Air Mauritius, flights depart weekly on selected days to Mauritius. Paradise really is that close!

It’s affordable:

We booked flights and a half-board package of accommodation at the gorgeous Veranda Pointe Aux Biches Hotel. Breakfast and dinner with Pentravel for just R17 000 but then upgraded to a full board package with drinks and lunch for an extra R 2500 per person. Throw in a side of free water activities (including aqua Zumba!) and it was a super affordable holiday!

My ultimate aim was to enter the next decade of my life in a relaxed state and between the resort’s fabulous seaside spa, handy hammock and a steady supply of cocktails, I got exactly what I wanted.
