The Crowne Plaza is a member of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and situated in the trendy Rosebank neighborhood. Closest to both Sandton City and Rosebank Malls, as well as the Sandton Convention Centre makes this a convenient location.
I fell in love with this hotel during an overnighter in Johannesburg, South Africa because of:
- Free WIFI
- 24 hour gym
- Spacious, minimalistic, chic rooms
- Ample dining options with two restaurants, one cafe and a bar
Butcher Block Grill
This restaurant serves lunch from 12 – 3pm and dinner from 6 to 10.30pm. As you can tell from the name, the specialty at this restaurant is steak.
Crowne Cafe
Open from 7am – 12 pm for Breakfast, brunch and lunch
Fresh Restaurant
Breakfast is served here daily from 6.30am toย 10.30am.
I’m no morning person, so I was most appreciative when the waitstaff let me stumble in for breakfast around 11am. A lovely continental breakfast is included with your room rate. Choose from fresh fruit, healthy cereals or even a hearty omelette.
Circle Bar
Circle bar with its other-worldly cylindrical tear drop enclosed seating. Guests will feelย as if they are seated inside a waterfall.
This bar is open from 12pm – 12 am.
Conference Space
Crowne Plaza has 6 meeting rooms, largest room capacity accommodates 300 guests.
IHG Rewards Club
Earn points for each stay and you can redeem them at any IHG hotel.
Amani Spa
“Amani” is the word for ‘peace’ in Swahili and is perfectly apt for this spa.
This tranquil spa has 7 chakra coloured inspired treatment rooms, a relaxing pool and is the perfect spot to wind down after a busy work day.

This hotel looks lovely! I’m pretty impressed they let you stumble in after breakfast hours. I don’t think they let you in many hotels. Or they wouldn’t be friendly for sure! ๐
Their customer service is really something to write home about. I also couldn’t believe how accommodating they were….loved it!
I was here twice for meetings – it’s really beautiful especially the crystal showers seating ๐

This is so weird because we stayed at the Rosebank a few months ago too! I loved their breakfast because there were too many food to choose from! My only problem is the location itself but still. Everything was great whilst I was there ๐
