Fanciest of fancies are not only the delectable sweets our mouths devoured at High Tea during our short time at La Residence, but also what our eyes feasted upon at this lavish country manor.

Former private home of Liz and Phil Biden, the five-star luxurious La Residence and Vineyard Suites exude a tranquil opulence. Nestled in the Franschhoek valley amidst working vineyards and a plum orchard, with breath-taking mountain views one cannot help to feel anything but calm.

La Residence is one of four luxury properties in The Royal Portfolio Private Residences Collection, owned by the Bidens’.

The accommodation comprises of 11 Double Suites (divided into Superior and Luxury Rooms) and 5 Vineyard Suites.

Each room is carefully decorated with meticulous attention to detail, with pieces personally selected by Liz Biden, herself. The Double suites are perfect for a couple, complete with my personal favourite touch in each en-suite, a victorian bath with an idyllic view of the vineyard.

Whilst the Vineyard suites (Villas) are better suited for families with children, with their own private garden and swimming pools.

All your standard digital offerings are available, such as TVs and Wifi, should one be unable to unplug from your laptop. Trust me with a spa treatment room, swimming pool, wine and cheese tasting, the library and many more activities to choose from I don’t think one would have any problem in unwinding!

We were treated to a sumptous high tea with the fanciest of fancies served, that looked too good to eat! Sipping on La Residence’s rose bubbly I tried to savour each bite of the silky berry cheesecake slowly.
