#MancrushMonday is a FABULOUS new series dedicated to showcasing some seriously inspiring men that have crossed my path. Previously on my #jaxpirational series I gave the ladies some props, it’s time the men got a shout out!
I have worked creatively with this Charli JVR in the past and I so appreciate him taking time out of his busy schedule to chat with me. So without further adieu let me introduce:

How did you discover your calling?
I have a degree in graphic design and communication design that landed me my first job as a social media manager for an international beauty brand over 10 years ago. From there I up skilled my talent to include hair and beauty, but my passion for art and design and love of editorial was always a driving force from young.
What do you love most about what you do?
Creating beauty and sharing that with my growing digital community. There is just something magical when a image or review can start a conversation or inspire someone else.
What do you like the least about what you do?
There is never a day off. I work 24/7 conceptualising, creating, engaging. Its non-stop
Who or what has been your biggest motivators ?
Growing up there was a lack of positive LGBTQ+ role models and those known in the beauty and fashion industry was always portrayed as overly feminine, eccentric and unrelatable. My motivation is to show a wider aspect of my community to not only break stereotypes but motivate others to be themselves.
Have you experienced fear along the way & how did you overcome it?
Working in the digital world your words can sometimes be misinterpreted, so I often live in fear that I will offend someone, and it has happened that people read what/ how they want and will jump to conclusions without knowing the facts. But that is the nature of the digital beast. My support group grows and puts me at ease.
What are your greatest achievement/s?
When I was able to call my passion project my full-time career. From a mid-management corporate role to working from home and creating beauty 24/7
Who do you thank for your success?
There have been many people that helped me along the way. From my first paying client, professionals in the industry that refer me, my partner that offered the security to follow my passion, friends and family for all the love and support. There is not one but a community that I thank.
What upcoming projects do you have?
I am collaborating with a fellow creative in a new social adventure that will soon launch. Expect a more personal behind the scenes content.
How are you currently coping with the #Covid19 Crisis?
Although all campaigns and work has come to a standstill I am fortunate that I can work from my at home studio creating content and experimenting with my techniques and skills.
Any words of encouragement for other male creatives out there?
When will you ever have all this time to experiment and do the things you’ve always talked about doing. Now is the time to get creative and push your work into new directions.
