Nomad Bistro Fusion

You cannot imagine my delight and surprise when I was invited by Co-Owners Mohit Sureka and Chef Mardia Swartz to an exclusive pre-opening tasting of this new hotspot in Waterkant street in Cape Town with fellow Fab Foodie Friends Sarita Kerber and Mademoiselle Nomad.

Entering this unassuming, offbeat eatery was like being transported through the Tardis into another era. The decor strongly reflects the name “Nomad Fusion”, where two worlds collide Steampunk meets Industrial Modern minimalist.

I loved being greeted by the wooden clad walls made from upcycled pallets as well most of the furniture. What a unique idea to re-use pallets as tables and counters.

The bathroom washbasin cleverly fashioned out of a reconditioned wine barrel with the Mona Lisa subtly blowing her nose whilst peeking at you, only adds to the quirkiness of this cool new hotspot.

I cannot fault the fantastic service received by the knowledgeable waitrons and baristas, who were all very attentive and friendly. I’m so looking forward to the upcoming tea tastings…. 😉

The quality of the food was fresh and well prepared; however the dish that stood out the most for me was the “Zoodles” with tomato and feta.

Zoodles are fresh noodles made from Zucchini, a refreshingly light palate pleaser that’s veggie friendly. Pasta or noodles made entirely out of Zucchini and no flour, banting buddies and gluten intolerants rejoice!
