Sophisticated and Sexy at Vista Marina
Sophisticated and Sexy at Vista Marina…theres no other way to describe this dining establishment.
Crystal chandeliers dripping from the ceiling, golden hues gracing the walls, as the neon blue light danced softly on the pristine icy white leather one would hardly recognize this former home to The Fish Café.
Owner and Executive Head Chef, Zeferino Francisco, spared no expense when he had his eye on his prize.
Reminiscent of the chic dining venues along the water’s edge of the stylish French Riviera, Vista Marina’s unapologetic luxurious sophistication sets it apart from the mainstream seafood restaurants.
Opening quietly in December 2016, this latest swanky addition glamming up the V&A Waterfront has got to be the perfect destination to chase the winter blues away.
With its sun-drenched views of Table Mountain at sunset, to its white-hot chic interior and tantalizing Mediterranean fare Vista Marina does not disappoint.
Thursdays are when Vista becomes super sexy with its sultry jazz evenings. I just so happened to be enjoying dinner on such an evening.
Mesmerized by the captivating Renate Riedemann, former electric violinist of award winning instrumental -pop group Sterling EQ, with each bite, each note I was transformed.
Angel food
Just as decadent as the venue itself is the menu with a wonderfully diverse selection of offerings for the refined palate. You won’t find any ordinary fish and chips here, unlike Vista’s predecessor but rather a more mature selection of seafood, with a smattering of alternative options for vegetarians and carnivores alike.
Undoubtedly I had to have the fish of the day, which was the melt-in-the-mouth moreish Angelfish. Such succulent and flavourful fish on a bed of Mediterranean roasted vegetables I have not devoured in a very long time.
A Sweet Ending
One dessert is good, but two is better. I oft cannot make up my mind, and the menu doesn’t make it easy as one is spoilt for choice.
Pavlova with dark chocolate ganache, cape gooseberries, pomegranate and caramel semi-freddo with caramelized brazil nuts, both garnished with edible geraniums were the order of the evening.
Exquisitely prepared and served, great attention paid to detail and a great deal of love went into these dishes…I could taste it!
C’est La Vie
The service was nothing short of exceptional. Our waitron was very attentive and assertive, we lacked nothing.
One of the best winter nights out I’ve had in a long time in Cape Town. But don’t just take my word for it, go check it out for yourself.
